| On January 2nd 2008 Daisaku
Ikeda celebrated his 80th birthday!
This remarkable man has worked tirelessly for more
than 60 years to promote peace and understanding around
and has built a foundation for the spread of Buddhism
through the SGI movement in more than 192 countries and
territories around the world.
He has been recognised as a philosopher and peace
builder by over 200 universities and institutions
around the world and is constantly acclaimed for his
work to build a sustainable peace in our lifetime.
